“I Hit the 280 Mark”: John Cena Once Revealed Completing a Shocking Challenge Set Out to Him by the Entire WWE Roster in 2006

John Cena has spent a lot of time in WWE being at the top of the mountain. But being on top isn’t only limited to starring in the main event matches or holding championships. It is also important to be a backstage leader and have a good rapport with wrestlers and officials backstage.

Being one of the guys was how Cena got to keep his top spot in the company, through the Ruthless Aggression era and the PG era. Cena’s backstage behavior meant others were on good terms with him and often had fun with him outside the ring. One such incident included a dare, which other wrestlers challenged him to. It wasn’t just some goofy action or anything, but to go out with a 280-pound woman.

John Cena once revealed his surprising dare in 2006

Talking to Howard Stern in 2006, The Champ John Cena talked about his time with his fellow wrestlers. He mentioned a dare that the other wrestlers challenged him to do.

In the dare, as he told Howard, he had to go out on a date with a woman who was 280 lbs.

Then Stern asked Cena if he was attracted to her and if she looked pretty. The 16-time champion politely answered his questions. But Cena kept the name of the woman a secret from Howard as well as the audience.

Cena said, “Believe it or not there was an instance not too long ago where I hit the 280 mark.” Then he added, “I’m pretty polite and respectful to everybody so there was that moment and then she walks away and then the boys start getting on, ‘yeah, you won’t do it.’ And it wasn’t like, ‘okay, I’ll do it,’ tail between my legs going over there. I said, ‘not only will I do it, I’ll enjoy it.’ And I did. It was a great night.”

It has been a while since Cena came back to WWE for a longer run. While he did come back last year at the end of December, it was only for one match. That return allowed him to keep his record of wrestling in every year since his debut intact.

But, this year as WrestleMania goes Hollywood, which has become Cena’s second home, it makes sense for him to return for one more match.

WWE has also announced that Cena will be making an appearance on Monday Night Raw on March 6 with a potential showdown against Austin Theory also teased
