As expected, the go-home show of Monday Night RAW ahead of Survivor Series 2023 had one great twist right at the start. With Drew McIntyre turning heel in the last episode of RAW and joining The Judgment Day, this directly affected their upcoming WarGames match. What was initially a four-on-four match turned into a five-on-five encounter. But who would join Cody Rhodes’ team? Randy Orton?

Fans have been waiting for months for Orton to return to the WWE. Since he was spotted at the performance center, fans have been waiting for his return.

During a backstage segment, we got to see Team Rhodes discuss who would face McIntyre in the main event advantage match. While Rollins claimed he would, Jey Uso wanted the fight against McIntyre. Understanding Jey’s urge to get some retribution for McIntyre’s actions, Jey emerged as the pick to represent the team.

However, one main question remained: who would be their fifth member? Sami Zayn asked if they could pick anyone from SmackDown, to which he got a positive answer. Zayn claimed he knew someone who could be Kevin Owens. Rollin and Rhodes also claimed that they knew people as well. Rhodes said, “I have an old friend I could call.” This sentence sent fans into a frenzy online, as they suspect this could be a hint at Randy Orton’s return.

As soon as Rhodes mentioned the word “Friend,” there was an audible pop by the audience. Fans know that Orton and Rhodes were part of Legecy back in the day. If there was anyone that Rhodes would call to help the team, it would be Orton.

How Orton could balance out the WarGames match

While McIntyre made it clear to Judgment Day that he had no feelings for the team and only wanted to target Jey Uso, Orton could share the same feelings. Orton will partake in the match to win with no personal agenda against The Judgment Day.

This would be the first time Orton would participate in a WWE match after 18 months of being on the shelf. Fans are super excited for the match after the hint Orton could be involved.
