Fans may assume WWE stars to be invincible from personal threats. A scary incident from August 2020 shook all WWE fans as the situation unraveled. Apart from health scares, WWE stars are also prone to become victims of crimes much like the rest of us. In fact, they could be more at risk because of their high profile as celebrities and the practical inability to lie low and hide from the public eye. What happened with Sonya Deville in August 2020 was incredibly shocking.
The wrestler dealt with a stalker along with a friend. The perpetrator received a court sentence after three years of investigations and legal processes. Finally, Deville and her legal team got the closure.

Back in August 2020, Deville and Mandy Rose were spending the night at the former’s house in Lutz. The alarm suddenly went off and Deville went to turn it off. The female wrestler witnessed a horrifying sight. An intruder was standing inside her family room, just a few feet away from her. When Deville asked the intruder for his purpose, he started walking around her, giving her confirmation that he was there to hurt her, not rob her.
After running away from her place with Rose, Deville called 911. The police caught the intruder right inside the home as he was waiting in the room downstairs, assuming the two women were still upstairs. The stalker was identified as Phillip A. Thomas II, but it took the judiciary around three years to conclude the case legally. In the end, the perpetrator was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty.
