Wrestlers get quite a few chances in their careers to carve their name in history. Losing one of them can cause severe damage to their progressing wrestling career. One such incident is recently recalled by a WWE legend who couldn’t complete his whole year title reign because of Brock Lesnar.

His drastic neck injury cost him his once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. However, Kurt Angle recently claims that he was supposed to beat The Beast in WrestleMania XIX. As per his statements, the original plan was way different from the things that actually panned out.

Kurt Angle talked about his loss against Brock Lesnar in WrestleMania XIX

In his Kurt Angle Show podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer has explained an iconic incident from 2003. His words caught attention when they talked about the 7-time WWE Champion. He also revealed the change in plans of WWE during 2002 and 2003.

Angle said, “I was supposed to beat Brock, but I broke my neck beforehand. So I had to do the job for Brock and lose to him and give him the title because I had that surgery.”

Further, he described the entire scenario that was planned but couldn’t take place due to his neck injury. He added, “I was supposed to have a title reign for a whole year. That was the whole plan. I was gonna beat Big Show. I was gonna carry it into WrestleMania, beat Brock, and continue on.

Unfortunately, fate had some other plans. Angle had to have surgery after WrestleMania and so he did what he had to.

However, soon The Next Big Thing got the title back in the 60-minute Ironman match on SmackDown. He then kept it until Eddy Guerrero took it away in 2004.
