Brock Lesnar is a name that is enough to bring chills down any wrestler’s spine. The ‘Beast Incarnate’ has proven his might outside of the WWE ring as well — and has shown his skill in the UFC Octagon. He is known to decimate his opponents with his knee blows and punches — not to mention his deadly Kimura Hold.

While most fans probably have an idea about his stubbornness already, they do not know the extent of his stubbornness. In an interview with Sean Oliver, a former WWE star revealed some backstage gossip about the time Brock Lesnar went face to face with Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania.

What went down during Wrestlemania 19?

Former WWE diva, Ivory revealed backstage gossip about the incident on the Kayfabe Commentaries show. The match-up was a big event at the time with two big names like Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar going head-on on Wrestlemania. It could not be more hyped-up than that!

Kurt Angle was supposed to call the match but Brock Lesnar did not listen to him at all, said Ivory. Angle kept trying to make Lesnar understand but from the very beginning he just kept on saying “No, no, no”.

Real fight or reel fight?

Even Angle had once shared his thoughts on the same.

“We had the showdown. It was close. It really was. He had 90 pounds on me, but I probably took him down into the ropes a good 7-8 times. He used the ropes to say we’re out of bounds. That’s OK. I did take him down once. He didn’t take me down at all.”, said Angle.

The fight turned out to be a ‘real fight’ and became an actual competitive face-off. The botches in the match were something both the performers regret even to this day.

Angle also revealed that “The whole reason why I helped Brock up and tried to assist him to win the match is that my neck was broken and I couldn’t carry the title any longer.”

Angle took some time off after the match because of the injury and Lesnar went on to defend his title. It might have been a bad experience but the skill of the two performers ensured that it did not go worse.
