To be on top, one undoubtedly has to go through a lot of struggles and hard work. Not to mention the unexpected crises that can happen at any point in life. Even the best can break down in that kind of situation. Brock Lesnar, one of the most dominant fighters in WWE, also experienced an unexpected crisis in his life.
From the looks of the 6’3 ft, 265 lbs Brock Lesnar, it’s hard to imagine that a man of that caliber can be bothered by an illness. But during his UFC days in 2009, ‘The Beast’ was hospitalized after he developed a rupture in his intestine. The rupture was leaking and contaminating his body.

Brock Lesnar wasn’t in his right mental state after that. In his interview with GQ, Lesnar described his phase of illness and being hospitalized.
Lesnar said, “The only way I can describe it is getting shot with a shotgun in the stomach. I crawled down a hole, I got cuckoo on drugs. I called Dana White and told him to go f**k himself, I fired everybody I could fire. The nurses were afraid to come in the room.” Notably, Dana White didn’t fire him as he made a comeback in UFC after the illness.
Brock Lesnar made a comeback from his illness
When Brock Lesnar fell ill back in 2009, UFC canceled one of his upcoming fights. People began speculating that it might be the end of the line for ‘The Beast’ in the UFC. However, it turned out that not only Brock has a fighter spirit but his body was also fighting back.

At the beginning of the next year when Brock Lesnar went for a checkup, he was shocked after hearing the news from his physician. Lesnar’s intestinal rupture began healing itself. Perhaps his body was also not ready to give up the fight yet.

That same year, Lesnar made a victorious comeback at MGM Garden Arena against Shane Carwin. Lesnar continued his UFC career for a couple more years and then moved to the WWE. The 45-year-old is still a big name in the WWE and enters with the same energy as he used to in his early days.
