Fans of the WWE always get to see the finished products on their screen. They are most of the time oblivious to what goes on behind the scene. Sometimes, there’s a race against time to put things in order. That is exactly what this female WWE superstar had to combat, according to her.
The powers that be at the top have to go through major roadblocks to entertain the masses. They have to take massive creative risks in order to succeed. While sometimes the gamble may not pay off most times they end up hitting the jackpot. WWE superstar Bayley was at the forefront of her return, in addition to a humongous shift to her character. Triple H put her in a precarious position on her comeback.
The Damage Ctrl leader recently sat down with journalist Ariel Helwani in the recent edition of Ariel Helwani meets. She talked about a host of issues during the interaction. The WWE star mentioned one particular instance where she was given a brief window of opportunity by the WWE brass.

WWE superstar discusses her SummerSlam return at such short notice
She said, “And then he {Triple H} just like tells me what had happened overnight and I was like, he’s also can you be at SummerSlam this weekend? I’m like you mean tomorrow yeah and he said oh yeah yeah like well of course and then I freak out and I’m dripping sweat. So after we had talked he had contacted Dakota. He had contacted Io and I guess talked to creative and they figured this whole thing out”.
The former women’s champion is among the most experienced names on the main roster. However, she was admittedly rattled by Triple H‘s call initially. Even after getting a short notice window, she delivered at the grand event along with a terrific ensemble.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise to many that she was the one who initially came up with an idea. There was more improvisation and less planning in the coming together of the group. That is what will come as a shock to the fans.
Damage Ctrl’s addition to the WWE has been a revelation
Notably, Bayley was out of action for nearly a year before her unexpected return at SummerSlam 2022. The addition of Damage Ctrl, which features Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai as well, has been a game changer. The women’s division was crying out for a faction and they finally got their wish granted last SummerSlam. And the group being a heel group opens a lot of avenues to be explored. Not to mention the impact that Bayley can have on her prodigies.
It’s a win-win situation for everyone, from the performers to the Stamford-based promotion. And the notorious faction has taken to the women’s division like duck to water. Constantly wreaking havoc and causing disruption to events like any good heel would. Not to mention their hilarious antics, which add to the entertainment quotient of the product.
The villainous bunch is currently embroiled in a feud with ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. The arrival of WWE Hall of Famer Lita to her aid has somewhat balanced the scale. Sky and Dakota will defend their tag-team titles against the unlikely duo.
