The WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Premium Live Event featured a stacked card filled with some exciting moments. One match that stood out on the night was the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Liv Morgan and challenger Ronda Rousey. The Extreme Rules contest saw spots involving the use of steel chairs, fire extinguishers, and even a table splash. Despite the use of foreign objects, Morgan could not retain her SmackDown Women’s Championship. The result meant Morgan had to fall back in line after being on top.

The former champion is keen to re-enter the championship picture and came extremely close to doing so, courtesy of an impressive showing in the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble. That stellar performance has not made her forget the events on October 8, 2022.
Liv Morgan feels she has nothing left to lose after Ronda Rousey dethroned her
In the latest episode of the Out of Character with Ryan Satin podcast, Liv Morgan poured her heart out on her defeat to Rousey via technical submission.
She said, “I feel like passing out and losing my title the way that it did. I feel like I had worked so hard for that and then for it to be taken away. Um, I had nothing. I had nothing left to lose. You know I have nothing else to lose. And I feel like my back is against the wall, so I’m ready and willing to do anything and everything that I need to do to eventually get my championship back.”

Winning the SmackDown Women’s title was the high point of Morgan’s wrestling career. As it was taken away from her, the former Riott Squad member is willing to put herself through anything in order to get back to the top of the blue brand‘s Women’s division.
Liv Morgan is ready to put herself through pain
Liv Morgan has been on a roller-coaster journey in 2022, which began with an impressive showing in the Women’s Royal Rumble match where she lasted for over 37 minutes. She floated around the mid-card till the Money in The Bank PLE, where she won the Women’s Ladder Match, to earn a guaranteed title opportunity.
The 28-year-old used her briefcase contract on the night itself, making her way to the ring moments after Ronda Rousey had beaten Natalya. Despite some initial setbacks, Morgan successfully cashed in her contract to win her first-ever SmackDown Women’s title. She even retained her belt against ‘Rowdy’ at SummerSlam, but could not repeat the trick at Extreme Rules.
In the interview, she continued, “So if that means putting myself through pain, putting others through pain – I’m down and ready for it all. I’m having so much fun with it, and I’m enjoying it. I enjoy kind of seeing how far I can go. How far I can be pushed and how far I can push others. How far they can push me? It’s been really cool.”
Liv Morgan now seems determined to get back to the top of the division again, and her performance in this year’s WWE Royal Rumble match is a testament that she is willing to push herself to the limits to achieve her aim.
