There is nothing more exciting in the wrestling Universe than two WWE Champions clashing. Therefore, the audience is eagerly looking forward to a match between WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
However, Triple H has clarified the reason the two Superstars cannot be engaged in a feud at the moment. This is primarily due to the magnitude of the match. It will not be an ordinary WWE rivalry but an extraordinary, limitless, unbelievable feud!

In fact, Triple H compared the Drew McIntyre-Roman Reigns match to the likes of Hulk Hogan- Ric Flair and The Rock-Stone Cold.
“The draft is always an exciting time because it creates these — I think in some ways the fantasy moments like I’ll be honest I don’t want to see Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns yet. I would love to see that percolate because I think that a couple of years down the road, Roman Reigns versus Drew McIntyre is a Hulk Hogan/Ric Flair scenario, is a Rock/‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin scenario, and you don’t want to hit that before it peaks. That’s what makes the draft so exciting to me is those moments in time where you were like, ‘well, what if?’ and then ‘what if’ becomes a reality.”
Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre will clash in the future
The Big Dog and The Scottish Psychopath will definitely cross paths sooner or later. If the company believes that this match is one to capitalize on, it will not back away from a possible storyline.
Let’s not forget that both of them have clashed in the squared circle previously at WrestleMania 35. Even though Roman Reigns picked up the win, Drew McIntyre’s reputation was unaffected, if not elevated.

Both legends have endured several challenges and changes in avatar since that match. Hence, it will be interesting to watch the performance they put up in the ring with their bigger and better personas.
In the recent WWE Draft 2020, the two champions retained their positions in the respective brands. While McIntyre will continue to rule Raw, Roman Reigns will continue to dominate SmackDown. As of now, McIntyre continues to be in a feud with Randy Orton and Reigns is fighting with his cousin, Jey Uso. Both of these rivalries will take center stage at the upcoming Hell in a Cell.
