Karrion Kross is the current NXT Champion. And with the kind of character he has, it’s highly unlikely that he will ever lose his title clean on the black and gold brand. However, it doesn’t mean the ‘Herald of Doomsday’ plans on staying in NXT forever either.

NXT Champion Karrion Kross hints at a WWE main roster run

Karrion Kross joined the NXT Global Press Conference alongside the several other NXT superstars yesterday. During the press conference, Javier Cardoso of Marca Claro, Mexico, asked Kross if he will go down in history as the greatest NXT Champion of all time, considering he’s one of the most solid wrestlers in WWE.

The NXT Champion didn’t break character, but made sure he gives a fitting answer. He stayed humble, and said he doesn’t believe in calling himself the greatest, nor should anyone else. He added it is something that the WWE Universe will eventually decide.

Kross said, “I’m not a big fan of undermining people’s intelligence. I don’t think that’s really something anyone in the business should put on themselves. I think the WWE Universe, NXT fans should decide who the greatest will be in due time.”

However, he did make a bold three-point statement to close the conference. He said, “I will tell you this – I don’t plan on ever losing this title, that’s number one. Number two, I don’t plan on staying in NXT forever. And number three, find out on Sunday.”

Now while the first and last point are just any champion would say. What Karrion Kross said in the middle was definitely worthwhile. He clearly mentioned he has no intentions of being in NXT forever, which clearly means he will move on to Raw or SmackDown very soon.

Who knows? His “find out on Sunday” may very well be his last match as NXT Champion. After all, he doesn’t need to be pinned or submitted to lose it. And considering the odds, it won’t be easy for Kross. However, it also means Kross could lose the title without being pinned and move on to the main roster heading into SummerSlam.
