If any wrestling fan talks about the greatest professional wrestlers of the 80s and early 90s, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair will always be the two prominent names. They were two of the most popular wrestlers WWE and WCW had before the dawn of the Attitude Era.

They headlined several events and have drawn an abundance amount of money into their respective promotions. However, recently wrestling legend Greg “The Hammer” Valentine claimed to be better than Hogan and Flair.

WWE Hall of Famer Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine appeared in an interview on Title Match Wrestling. There, he claimed, he was a better wrestler than Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair while expressing his views on both of them.

Valentine does not see Flair as a 60-minute man. He said, “As far as Hogan and Flair, everybody puts those guys over, but I think I’m better than both of them. I did longer matches than Flair. Well, Flair was ‘60-minute man,’ he called himself, but I’m the guy that did 60 minutes.”

He added, “I did 60 minutes in Madison Square Garden, I did 60 minutes everywhere. Flair calls himself 60-minute man, I don’t know if he’s talking about wrestling.”

Flair and Valentine were a tag team for a number of years in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling.

Moreover, he called Hogan a friend and said, “I liked Hogan as a friend, but I couldn’t believe it, I saw where he put Flair over (and) said, ‘Flair’s number one, I’m number two.’ I said, ‘Guess what? I’m number one and both of you guys are five or six.”

Valentine, a second-generation wrestler, is perhaps best known for his WWE run from 1984 to 1992, where he became an Intercontinental Champion and World Tag Team Champion. After leaving WWE, he wrestled majorly on the independent circuit for several years.
