Brock Lesnar has achieved remarkable success over his eventful stints in WWE and UFC. The Beast Incarnate proved himself repeatedly that he has the talent that every wrestling promotion wants to put some serious money on. A WWE veteran once discussed signing Lesnar to the biggest contract while describing Lesnar’s early financial struggles.
Former WWE commentator Jim Ross admitted in an interview that he knowingly withheld information from Vince McMahon in order to stop WWE from signing Lesnar in junior year. After that, he did sign him to the biggest rookie deal, like Joe Burrow, who was the first pick in the 2020 draft.

On a 2020 episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Ross has some incredible insight into the Lesnar contract since The Beast Incarnate was broke before that. However, he asserted a wrestler like Lesnar wasn’t someone that anybody would pass on acquiring, thus he offered Lesnar the greatest rookie deal in terms of money.
In his words, “Brock was tired of being broke and I remember he got the biggest rookie contract to that point. I can’t imagine anybody getting more than the 200-250k that we paid Brock to start out with. So he got 250 grand because he was no miss guy.”
He added, “You know that’s like saying Joe Burrow is no one pick in the draft, he’s not played down the NFL and he’s life is set with money. Because that’s what you do to those guys that you have high expectations for that could be big contributors. And that’s exactly how you describe Lesnar.”
