Sheamus and Carrillo put each other through the wringer on Raw. The two Superstars have feuded since the Raw after WrestleMania, where Carillo returned to WWE. He answered Sheamus’ US Champion Open Challenge, but the Celtic Warrior blasted him with a Brogue Kick before the bell could ring.

The two finally squared off on Raw, with Carrillo hellbent on winning his first championship in WWE. Unfortunately, his big title match ended prematurely after a terrifying spot.

Carrillo attempted a sunset flip powerbomb on Sheamus from the ring apron to the floor. Instead of Sheamus landing flat on the ground, Carrillo under-rotated and landed on his feet, with all 250 pounds of Sheamus collapsing on his knee.

The spot looked ghastly, and we could see Carrillo immediately calling for help. He couldn’t get back on his feet, and the referee called for the bell.

Sheamus retained the United States Championship, but at what cost? We hope the injury isn’t too bad and the youngster can return to the ring quickly.

The youngster returned to WWE television after WrestleMania 37, missing out on months of action. He debuted on Raw in 2019, where he impressed many with his high-flying skills and athleticism. He wrestled some decent matches against Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, and Andrade but never broke through to the main event.

In 2020, it looked like Carrillo was finally getting the push he deserved. He picked a fight with Seth Rollins after the Messiah attacked his friend Rey Mysterio, sparking a mini-feud between the two.

Unfortunately, he could not beat Rollins, and WWE wrote him off television with a Curb Stomp on the steel steps.

Carrillo’s last match before returning came in September 2020 when he teamed up with Dominik Mysterio in a #1 contender’s match for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Since then, he has wrestled only on Main Event and did not appear on WWE’s televised shows.

The feud against Sheamus was a moment in the spotlight for the young talent, and it’s a shame it ended so soon. We hope WWE throws him back into a feud with Sheamus when he inevitably returns from this injury.
