The Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee closed on Thursday with a triumphalist message from Donald Trump. True to his populist discourse and with the almost religious devotion of the public after the assassination attempt suffered last Saturday. However, he not only used his words to ensure the vote, but he also summoned some resounding presences to guarantee and promote support for his candidacy.
One of them was Hulk Hogan. The wrestling star was another of the protagonists of the event, which he attended to proclaim his support for the former U.S. president’s campaign. As did Linda McMahon, former CEO of WWE and head of small business administration during Trump’s previous term.
However, the presence of Hogan surely had a huge impact. His intervention was conceived as if it were his promos to warm up a fight. In his speech filled with pro wrestling references and some botches, Hogan compared Trump and Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance to the duo he made with Macho Man, the remembered Randy Savage, The Mega Powers. As he usually did in his wrestling performances, Mr. America, 70, tore off the T-shirt he was wearing to reveal a red one underneath, in support of the Trump-Vance presidential duo.

This surely caught the attention of Hyaneyoung Gerard (née Olvera), better known by her ring name Hyan. She is an American pro wrestler best known for her tenure with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling, New Texas Pro Wrestling, and Shimmer Women Athletes. Taking to her Twitter, she shared her thoughts on Hulk Hogan being mixed up with Donald Trump’s campaign and the star’s ability to keep on getting heat wherever he goes. Something that gives her second-hand embarrassment, as she wrote, “hulk hogan makes me ashamed to be a pro wrestler.”

One fan believed that he now knows about Hyan after this tweet. Something Hyan should thank Hogan for. As it got her the recognition she wanted according to him.
Never heard of you until you mentioned Hulk Hogan, thank him.

While some fans went on to remind her that pro wrestling became popular in the US after Hulk Hogan’s contribution to the sport. The legend started the Hulkamania that got every fan to tune in to his match to see him go against the likes of Yokozuna and Iron Sheik, as he defeated them to become the all-American hero. Something that she should be thankful for.

Hogan created an environment that made it possible for you to be a pro wrestler. Without Vince and Hogan pro wrestling would have gone the way of the roller rink

Without him you wouldn’t be doing what you are doing. Remember that. He carried that sport/entertainment.

The friendship between Hogan and Trump goes back a long way, and the athlete has been a loyal public supporter for years of the tycoon. This, on the other hand, has also had an important fixation with the world of pro wrestling. In fact, sometime before launching his political career, he made memorable appearances within the WWE. One of the most remembered was, for example, at Wrestlemania XXIII. In 2013, Trump was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. What did you think of Hogan’s speech? Let us know in the comments.
