Hulk Hogan is one of the most formidable opponents one can get in the ring. His 24-inch biceps fondly referred to as ‘Pythons’, is the stuff of legends. But even after all of this, the Hall of Famer is reluctant to face off against boxing legend Mike Tyson!

While, of course, Hogan is no average opponent, Mike Tyson, in his prime, was a different ball game altogether. Tyson’s ferocious punches were infamous in all wrestling and boxing circles. Actually, not just there, they were well known throughout the globe. This toughness and that fighter temperament earned Tyson the moniker “Iron Mike”.

Hulk Hogan revealed his apprehension on Facebook

Hogan said in the post that he would not walk into a boxing ring with Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali or Joe Frazier.

One of the pictures even had Ali checking out the Hulkster’s pythons.

“boxing is a whole different ballgame baby everything changes when you getting punched in the face,”

“Aw man, not even for a light spar for charity like you did in Rocky 3? Would be cool if you did.” another fan remarked.

The two titans back in the day got very close to a face-off. A young Hogan was very keen and ready to rumble with Tyson. There was a very intense build-up between the two, but nothing ever materialized.

The Hulk Hogan that tried to act tough in front of Tyson is from a different era, and understandably so. The Hulk Hogan that shared the post is a much calmer and composed post-retirement Hogan.

“Tyson’s got them gloves, but I’ve got all these other tools. I could take him down, put him in a wrist-lock or head-lock. As soon as he gets close enough to hit me, I’d just reach out and grab him.” said Hogan back in the day. “If they wanted to make the fight fair, then they’d have to put a pair of handcuffs on me.” He added. Hogan is now very open about his shortcomings in front of a legend like Tyson, who has won 12 fights by KO in the first round itself!

Tyson remained calm and composed all through this, and the brawl never took place. Later in 2012, however, WWE honoured Tyson with a place in their Hall of Fame, signalling everyone once again of his in-ring abilities. Who would have won in a face-off between the two? Let us know what you think.
