Hulk Hogan had won several major championships in his singles career. But Hogan, along with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, formed one of the biggest professional wrestling stables, the nWo (New World Order).

After Scott Hall and Kevin Nash returned to WCW, they asked Eric Bischoff to name any three WCW wrestlers to fight against them in a six-man tag team contest at WCW Bash at the Beach.

Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage got chosen for the six-man tag team match at WCW Bash at the Beach. Hall and Nash revealed they are not two, but three.

They claimed they had a mystery partner for their match at WCW Bash at the Beach. But no one actually knew who this third man or this mystery partner was.

Though Hogan was the third member of the nWo, he wasn’t the first choice. WCW legend Sting was the first choice.

During an episode of Peacock‘s WWE Evil, Eric Bischoff recalled revealing to Hogan that he already had Sting lined up for that third man spot. On hearing this, Hulk Hogan told Bischoff he can’t have Sting as the third member.

In the same episode of WWE Evil, Hulk Hogan admitted he did not want Sting to get that third man spot. He revealed he felt he needed a major change really bad.

Hulk Hogan said, “I was starting to get to a point where I was second-guessing everything about myself. When this whole three guys thing came on, I decided to jump on it. I needed it more than life itself at that point.”

“I did not want Sting to get it and I wanted to prove to the people that I knew this business. Not only could I be the greatest good guy ever, I knew this business well, and I thought I could be the greatest bad guy ever,” he added.

On that night, the Hulkster joined hands with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. This not only led to the formation of the now but also made Hulk Hogan an on-screen villain (heel). The fans in the arena looked shocked, as nobody expected that from Hogan.
