WWE Universe is praying to see The Rock making a comeback against his kin ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns to end his dominant rule on SmackDown.
Although WWE officials also have the same thought about the match-up, they are skeptical about putting The Rock against Reigns in a one-on-one situation at the Grandest Stage of all and risk an injury for the Hollywood star.

Recently reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, currently, WWE is planning to put Roman against The Rock in a tag team action with each of the Usos on separate teams.
“One idea that has been talked about, as the goal is Reigns and Rock in Dallas for the 2022 Mania, is that if concessions have to be made regarding Rock and movies and injury fears, that they do Reigns and an Uso vs. Rock and an Uso, so Rock can be protected from doing too much and it keeps it all in the family with the idea and Rock and Reigns as who is really the tribal chief.
“Obviously, the singles match is the preferred match but any involvement of Rock is preferred over him not doing the show,” Meltzer concluded.

This backup plan from the WWE can really elevate the current Tribal Chief gimmick for Roman. The Usos are currently helping the Universal champion in his actions, throwing ‘The Great One’ into the mix will definitely bode well to the Samoan family drama.
Currently, the management is planning to feature this dream match at the ‘Showcase of Immortals’ at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, or the following Mania in 2023.
Will Roman will still be the champion when The Rock returns?
Currently, Roman Reigns is dominating the Blue brand with his stellar championship reign. The management has released no timeline for Rock’s return, but it will be not as soon as the WWE Universe expects.

Everyone wants Dwayne to be the one who takes the belt off the current universal champion, which is highly unlikely because Reigns will go one-on-one against Edge for the first time at Money in the Bank PPV.
And he is rumored to face John Cena at SummerSlam this year.
