Cody Rhodes has completed his story as he promised as he beams with pride every week holding the Undisputed WWE Championship on WWE programming. He had several challenges to endure before winning the championship. And we have witnessed him overcome each one. Although these hurdles proved a formidable challenge, The American Nightmare proved his resilience and determination. However, that doesn’t mean it’s smooth sailing for the former AEW star now.

Being a champion puts a target on your back, as Rhodes very well knows. And it looks like his next obstacle has shown itself, albeit in an obscured manner. So far, WWE has been quite adept at planning Cody Rhodes’ championship reign, and it appears like the next several challenges for the American Nightmare have already been determined.

He is now feuding with Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline, and it appears like WWE has already left a significant hint as to who will face him after all of this. Cody Rhodes was seen backstage at last week’s SmackDown getting ready for his main event match against Solo Sikoa.

At the time, two wrestlers were gazing at Rhodes from a distance. It wasn’t immediately noticeable, but if you look closely, you can see both of them. They were none other than Luke Gallows and Karl Andreson. They were previously involved in the storyline of AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes. It appears that their involvement with the former AEW star may not be over.

Styles could aim to exact retribution after being insulted by Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle.

Will AJ Styles get another shot at dethroning Cody Rhodes after suffering two losses?

Although we know AJ Styles has a lot of promise and is the guy who built SmackDown, is it conceivable for WWE to grant Styles another shot at the World Championship? Styles has a lot of respect in the WWE Universe, and there is a slim likelihood that he can dethrone Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, granting him another shot after two losses against the champion seems like a reach. However, WWE could borrow from the criticism levied by notable wrestling personalities.

The insiders had remarked at the absurdity of a spot during the match at Clash at the Castle. Rhodes seemingly went unconscious at one point during the match but the referee did not call for the match to end since he couldn’t utter the words ‘I Quit’. Styles could potentially highlight the ridiculous nature of that spot to warrant a third match.

These ideas may be correct, but it appears that Rhodes has bigger fish to fry at the moment. As you are all aware, Cody Rhodes is now entangled in a storyline with the dominant Bloodline. It will take some time for him to break free. As a result, AJ Styles has plenty of time to prepare for a match against the champion if The American Nightmare emerges triumphant over his troubles with The Bloodline.

What do you think of the ominous placement of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson? Does it point to a rematch between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes? Let us know in the comments.
