How Vince McMahon Got Hulk Hogan ‘Flying All Night’ Because of a Trivial Matter

Vince McMahon liked to get things done as he desired. Because of this, some talents sometimes had to go out of their way to do things a certain way. In a recent interview, Hulk Hogan recalled when the former CEO of WWE had him ‘flying’ all night after a tiring event.

McMahon wanted to see Hogan in his ‘red and yellow’ attire again after WrestleMania X8 went down. So, after trying his best to dodge the demand, Hollywood Hogan had to fly back home to his own country to make ends meet for McMahon. He recently described the experience.

Hulk Hogan complied with his boss’ request

Despite his ‘bossy’ persona inside the ring, Hogan didn’t boss around much when it came to his employer. After he was done with WrestleMania X8, McMahon gladly approached Hogan to order him to bring his ‘red and yellow’ appearance back. The original plan was to use it on Monday Night Raw the very next day. For WrestleMania, the stars were staying in Toronto, Canada. However, from there, Hogan had to fly all the way back to Tulsa to get his gear and then come back to Canada in the city of Montreal.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Hogan recalled this traveling nightmare that he faced immediately after WrestleMania X8 in 2002.

The Hulkster first explained why he couldn’t send somebody else in his place by confessing, “So we wanted to send somebody back and I said they’ll never find my stuff. And they will not bring the right stuff.” He then went on to describe his long ‘one-night’ journey. After recalling his never-ending night in McMahon’s jet, he only had one sentence in mind: “It was intense, man.”

The reason why this gimmick had to be picked up so urgently was because of a disagreement that Hulk Hogan had with McMahon before his WrestleMania match.

Before this last-minute order from Mr. McMahon, Hogan had once earlier rejected the idea of dressing up as the red and yellow hero again.

Hulk Hogan first went against McMahon’s desire

2002 was the year when Hollywood Hogan returned to the Stamford-based company after a long time. So, McMahon wanted the wrestling legend to dress up as his former iconic self and be a hero. However, Hogan didn’t want to ditch his heel turn. So, to satiate his own wish to perform as a bad guy at WrestleMania X8, he ditched McMahon’s request at first.

However, after the night was done with, he was once again ordered to bring back the iconic outfit and gimmick. This time around, the 70-year-old listened to his boss, resulting in the nightmarishly long journey.
