Where was Mustafa Ali a cop?

Mustafa Ali trained right from his college days. He started his wrestling journey in the independent circuit in 2003. However, things changed when his father passed away.

The responsibility of the family came to Ali, which meant that he worked even harder. Being in the independent circuit, Ali couldn’t make much money to support his family. So, he joined the police force to live a proper living. He was a cop in Homewood, Illinois, United States.

His four-year tenure in the police force was one of the hardest tests in his life. He managed his dream and his police job simultaneously. During an interview, Ali talked about his time as a cop.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Ali mentioned his reason to join the police department. He said, “I had joined the police department because I truly believed that, at its core, the police officer profession was a noble one. To protect and to serve, to lay your life down, to protect the innocent. I felt, what could be more noble than that? I was well aware of all the problems that the police department was having with the community, and I was aware that it needed change. I thought the best way to bring change to the police department [was] from within. That’s why I joined.”

Ali’s nationality is American as he was born in Bolingbrook, Illinois. However, his father was from Karachi, Pakistan, and his mother was from India. Ali’s ethnicity is Pakistani-Indian.

How did Mustafa Ali’s police colleagues discover his “second life”?

The Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) became a game-changer in Ali’s life. His life took a big turn and got him his dream opportunity.

Ali was a replacement for a Brazilian wrestler who couldn’t make it due to visa issues. Ali became the replacement for him and achieved a chance to perform in the CWC tournament. During the CWC tournament, Daniel Bryan was the color commentator who mentioned Ali’s cop life.

One of Ali’s colleagues who watched WWE Network regularly recognized Ali. Soon after that, Ali’s colleagues knew about his second life.

Ali is a potential superstar and has great in-ring skills. Many WWE fans have appreciated Ali for his performances in WWE.

Recently, though Ali asked WWE to release him. The future for Ali stands still, but many fans have shown their support towards the wrestler and believe that if he gets a chance, he could shine and fire up the ring.
