Back when ‘Taker was in Ted Turner’s WCW, he worked under the name of ‘Mean Mark’ alongside Paul Heyman. However, after having a bunch of matches in that promotion, ‘Taker eventually decided to prove his worth in WWE.
In 1990, Calaway signed with WWE, then known as WWF, as, ‘Kane’ The Undertaker. However, after drawing some sketches and brainstorming sessions with the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, Mark Calaway was given a gimmick of ‘The Deadman‘.
Eventually, Mark made his official televised debut at Survivor Series PPV ’90 as a heel when he was the mystery partner of Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Team. It was this night when the world witnessed the start of a historical WWE career of The Undertaker.
How old was The Undertaker when he first started wrestling?
The soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer was born in 1965. After deciding to pursue pro-wrestling, The Undertaker started training with Buzz Sawyer in 1986. Soon, Undertaker started his in-ring career when he debuted as Texas Red in WCCW, in 1987 against Bruiser Brody.
