Fan favorite WWE superstar, LA Knight aka Shaun Ricker, was invited to the podcast of popular wrestling journalist, Chris Van Vliet. In the interview uploaded on YouTube on 9th January, LA Knight discussed various things from his big moments in the WWE, epic promo battles with The Miz, rivalry with Logan Paul, and much more.
During a brief moment, he also discussed his struggles behind the WWE and an anecdote involving Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
LA Knight narrates the reason behind appearing on The Hero with Dwayne Johnson

Knight’s fans know about his decades of struggle to get into the top position in the WWE. While explaining his struggle, he narrated how he used Dwayne Johnson to get into WWE. He said, “But I was thinking to myself if I want a show with The Rock maybe there’s some way I can like form a relationship or any.”
The moment in reference is related to Ricker’s appearance in the TV series titled The Hero which premiered on TNT, hosted by Dwayne Johnson and featured LA Knight as one of the contestants. Well, Ricker was never interested in TV at all. He also mentioned it during the interview when he said, “I never wanted to be in reality TV. For me that… just, it was not something I wanted to do, it was not something that was attractive to me.”
Knight further explained that he was never into acting. He likes going with the flow and considers going either way in his career, acting or wrestling. He even said that if his acting career kicked up, he would have given up wrestling completely. For him, it is all about becoming the Megastar.
LA Knight clarifies fans’ misunderstanding

Fate had different things for LA Knight when he moved to WWE Performance Center in 2013, for wrestling. However, his stay did not last long in the developmental brand and he soon left WWE for the indie circuit.

Fans think Knight got a chance in WWE because of his role in The Hero, however, it is the other way around. He explained, “So my initial plan, I think most people think that’s what happened, is I got signed because of being on the Hero, but it actually just a bunch of stuff started to happen at the same time.”
