WWE Hall of Famer Edge spoke about taking his first superplex in 12 years and a match-three with Randy Orton.

Edge returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2020. The Ultimate Opportunist was seen in a WWE ring after nine long years.

The Rated ‘R’ Superstar entered the ring at the number 21 and eliminated Randy Orton. This started a feud between the former tag team champions.

Randy Orton would attack edge brutally the night on RAW after the Royal Rumble. The following week he would RKO his Beth Pheonix on RAW.

Edge would then challenge Orton at Wrestlemania 36 to a Last Man Standing match. Orton accepted but came up short as Edge was the Last Man Standing. The match was the longest of this year’s Wrestlemania, it went on for almost 40 mins.

On the May 11th edition of RAW after Wrestlemania Randy Orton and Edge came face-to-face once again. Orton admitted Edge was the better man but not the better Wrestler. Orton challenged Edge to a Wrestling match at Backlash, Edge accepted.

At Backlash Edge and Orton gave everything they had for each other. They used every move they knew. They also gave a tribute to The Rock, Triple H, and Eddie Guerrero.

They used the Pedigree, Rock Bottom and Frog splash, however, this didn’t work as well. The Viper had to look deep inside himself and use the signature move he hadn’t used for years. Orton punted Edge and won the match, with later suffering a torn tricep.

Edge reflects on receiving a superplex after 12 years

Edge spoke about how different things were tried. The main aim was to live up to the expectation of being a part of the greatest wrestling match ever. The Rated ‘R’ Superstar also revealed that the majority of the match was pre-shot.
However, in an interview with Busted Open Radio, Edge said when he took a superplex after 12 years it was live.
Here is what Edge said.

“We tried different things like the superplex was live, and if you noticed on replays, they didn’t shoot the entire ring because that cameraman, as we were climbing up, he slid in the ring and got in the back corner. So I’m taking my first superplex in probably 12 years, and I’m going oh, how’s this going to feel?”

Edge and Orton part three is a must happen. Since the return of the Hall of Famer Edge and Orton have faced each other twice.

The Ultimate opportunist and The Legend Killer are tied at a score of one each. Hence, Part three of Edge and Orton is a compulsion.

Edge talks about having part three but also feels the Bar needs to be raised. Edge and Orton gave everything at Backlash. However, Edge feels this time it has to be different from Backlash.
Here is what Edge said.

“Now going forward, the challenge will be OK, what is the next chapter of this and how do we make it entirely different from Backlash? But that’s fun. That’s where you get into the nuances of  the story.”
