Edge returned as the number one entrant at Royal Rumble 2021. During this match, he shared an emotional moment with his former tag team partner, friend, and rival, Christian.
The Rated-R Superstar appeared on a session of After The Bell with Corey Graves and revealed his thoughts during the moment he saw Christian standing opposite him inside the ring.
“You know that’s the stuff you can’t try and map out, that’s the stuff you can’t script, that’s the stuff when wrestling works at its best level when there’s reality involved, when there’s truth involved.”

“When there’s truth, the audience can see it because it’s right here and down here. I just had to take a moment. I didn’t know I was on camera. I wanted to be out of the way for him. So I was out of the way but I also wanted to see him. I wanted to experience it and be able to soak that in because I was just so happy for him. Also dumbfounded.”
Undoubtedly, this was a huge moment for Edge. Christian already knew Edge was going to be a part of Royal Rumble considering the prior announcements.
He believed that being back in the ring with Christian by his side was beyond his imagination. Corey Graves agreed that Christian returning was a surprise to him as well.
“This was actually happening. The fact we’re both in here. A year after me returning, and here he comes and we’re gonna be in Royal Rumble together in 2021. How is this happening? So that look on my face is proud, happy, ecstatic. It’s all of it. It was real.”
