Randy Orton who is in the thick of affairs at SmackDown made an unexpected big jump by coming to Raw. He didn’t waste any energy after appearing in the red show brand as challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to a match at Bash in Berlin. Gunther accepted the challenge, and the bout has been scheduled for the upcoming WWE PLE. But why on earth was Randy Orton on Raw in the first place?
You may recall that the King of the Ring tournament finale, which included these two men, ended controversially. Orton’s shoulder was raised during the decisive pin attempt. However, the referee did not notice it and counted to three, crowning Gunther as King of the Ring. Although the dispute was not referenced after that day, it appears WWE intends to exploit it as a future plot for a feud between these superstars.

As you are aware, Bash in Berlin is a major WWE International PLE, and they want high-profile matches to take place there. We know how much star power Randy Orton and Gunther have, and it would be an excellent method to portray a match of this caliber. Not only that, but Triple H pulled a clever trick by remembering that exact little blunder and then turning it into a major plot. But does this mean that The Viper won’t be a prominent part of The Bloodline feud as evidenced in recent weeks?
Is Randy Orton no longer going to be part of the Bloodline story?
Randy Orton’s move to Raw made it apparent that after SummerSlam, WWE intends to change a lot about the product. Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, appears to be dropping out of a Bloodline program. The reason for this is simple: Orton was his backup, and now that Orton is involved in another program, Rhodes will finally have a rivalry with someone else.

Not only that, but this jump or change in product also means that the Bloodline Civil War narrative has officially begun, and WWE is seeking to seize on the potential to make this storyline a big deal in the future. Randy Orton, on the other hand, still has a massive challenge ahead of him: if the Viper wants to be at the top again, he must defeat The Ring General this time who we know from the past few years have been unstoppable. The former WWE champion has 14 world title reigns to his name and needs two more title reigns to equal the storied record of John Cena and Ric Flair. He will be hoping to make inroads in his attempt to equal or shatter the record by taking down the new World Heavyweight champion next.
