Widely regarded as a gem of the combat sports industry, Sika’s monumental career milestone came about when he teamed with his brother, Arthur “Afa” Anoa’i Sr., in the iconic tag team The Wild Samoans. The brother duo predominantly ruled the tag team division, winning the championship several times. Thanks to the air of terror attached to them and their unorthodox wrestling style. Leaving the legacy of an exceptional run behind, they launched The Wild Samoan Training Facility to ensure a bright future. This brought about glory for other prominent WWE stars, including Batista. In 2007, WWE credited the prized veteran with the highest honor in the house, a Hall of Fame induction.

Last but not least, the veteran passed the torch to his sons, Rosey and Roman Reigns as well as the rest of his legendary family tree, and went to rest in peace for good. In a heart-wrenching post, his nephew, Jahrus Anoa’i, wrote, ‘‘It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of WWE Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa’i. He passed away peacefully on June 25th… ‘Rest in love, Uncle Sika”

The exact cause of death has yet to come to light. However, given that he died ‘peacefully’, it could indicate a demise while sleeping. Perhaps, the WWE Universe can revel in the career of the Hall of Famer by looking back on his last WWE appearance with his son Roman Reigns.

Conjuring up Sika Anoa’i’s last WWE appearance

Sika Anoa’i imprinted his prowess in NJPW, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling, and many other promotions across the world. As part of The Wild Samoans, he even had multiple appearances in the WWF. But his tenure with the Stamford-based company was something worth celebrating. During the 2020 Hell in a Cell PLE, Sika Anoa’i made his last appearance on WWE TV. Sika and Afa, the famous duo, came out to heap congratulations on Roman Reigns on stage after he defeated Jey Uso to defend his Universal Championship. They wrapped a lei around his neck and facilitated him as the leader of the family. This was the time when The Tribal Chief was officially promoted to The Head of the Table and never looked back.
