After 19 years, Stone Cold Steve Austin will return to the ring to humble a 37-year-old WWE Superstar. Stone Cold Steve Austin has made several appearances on WWE programming since his retirement after WrestleMania 18. However, this time it’s different; it’s personal.

Texas is the hometown of WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin, and that is why he is also called The Texas Rattlesnake. However, no one in professional wrestling has ever insulted Texas. It was because they knew they would face the wrath of Stone Cold.

How does Kevin Owens feel about facing Stone Cold Steve Austin at the Grandest Stage of them All?

Before his confrontation with The Texas Rattlesnake at WrestleMania 38, Kevin Owens spoke with Ryan Clark and Daniel Cormier of ESPN MMA. They discussed what it means for Owens to be in the same ring as Austin.

“Man, It’s a really wild time in my career. I’m about to be in the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin. I don’t think it gets any bigger and wilder than that, especially for a guy who grew up on [watching] Stone Cold, and he was my favorite wrestler for the longest time. So, it’s been a pretty incredible ride the last few weeks for sure,” Owens mentioned.

Fight Owens used a perfect magnet to pull The Texas Rattlesnake!

Kevin Owens had always looked up to Stone Cold Steve Austin and knew exactly how he could get The Texas Rattlesnake to return inside the squared circle.

He added, “It’s unreal to find myself in this position. What’s funny is, when I first asked him if I could use the Stunner as the finishing move and he gave me a blessing. It meant a lot to me personally and professionally coming from him because I looked up to him for the longest time.”

Former Universal Champion continued, “But I did figure that if at some point he was to come back, the logic would be he’d be involved with the guy who’s doing the Stunner. So, I played the long game here a little bit, and it worked out in my favor.”

Two weeks ago, the former Universal Champion Kevin Owens kicked off Monday Night Raw and impersonated Stone Cold’s entrance. However, during the same interview, Owens mentioned that he never mimicked anyone on WWE TV.
