Hours Before Face-Off With Logan Paul, WWE Legend Heaps Praises on His Skills: “Shocking but Not Scary”

The 28-year-old YouTube sensation, Logan Paul finally reverted to boxing on October 14th, 2023 fighting Dillon Danis at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. After a startling showdown, Paul picked up the win. But what he did afterward came as a shocker to the WWE Universe.

Paul eyed Mysterio’s WWE US Championship and challenged him right away for a match. While Mysterio was left dumbstruck by the unforeseen ultimatum, it didn’t let his appreciation for the 28-year-old fade away.

Rey Mysterio spoke highly of Logan Paul after his callout

Logan Paul’s meteoric rise in the business was questioned by many. People wondered how he managed to get big spots being tipped against many bigwigs with fewer appearances. That said, Paul’s upcoming opponent, Rey Mysterio doesn’t seem critical of him at all.

Rather, the Hall of Farmer spoke highly of how far he has come. Paul already competed in some high-voltage matches against Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Ricochet and was a marquee attraction of both the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank 2023.

Weighing in on his fastest development, Mysterio noted, ”I see his growth and his improvement, especially after having the match against Roman Reigns. Yeah and then this last match as he can adapt to any style which is crazy. You know not a lot of guys can come into our world and perform the way they perform like Logan and uh like Bad Bunny in a way you know they pick up the beat right away so it’s shocking but not scary okay. ”

However, Mysterio believes Paul made the decision to challenge him in an unclear state of mind.

During a recent episode of MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Mysterio was asked how he views Paul’s sudden challenge. He readily replied that he believed Paul didn’t do it with a sane mind.

He also doubted The Maverick’s ability to stay comfortable when the match actually takes place. Despite lauding Paul’s commendable journey with WWE, Mysterio believes it’s not him but his high adrenaline level that issued the challenge.

We need to wait to see what transpires when they come face-to-face on SmackDown this week.
