“Horrible Human Being”: Fans Bash Dwayne Johnson’s Cousin For Boasting About Legitimately Hurting Fellow Co-Worker

While sports entertainment is mostly scripted, the threat of a real injury always looms large. The performers have to spend years and years in training to perfect the in-ring moves. However, there have always been incidents of accidental injuries to wrestlers. Many times, these could be absolutely freakish in nature. But sometimes it could be a result of a performer being too stiff in landing their moves. This was certainly the case with Dwayne Johnson’s cousin Nia Jax breaking Becky Lynch’s nose in a 2018 episode of Monday Night Raw.

The episode was part of the build-up to the-then upcoming 2018 Survivor Series event.

And as part of the traditional Survivor Series elimination match, Team Raw was scheduled to take on Team Smackdown. During the episode, a segment featured the Smackdown women performers invading Raw and attacking the Raw women performers.

A brawl would eventually break out and Nia Jax landed a punch on Becky Lynch’s face that led to her getting a broken nose and a concussion. Lynch was set to take on The Baddest Woman On The Planet Ronda Rousey in the Survivor Series. But she was forced out of the mouth-watering clash because of the freak injury that she suffered.

Charlotte Flair replaced Lynch for the match. The clash was high in quality but would eventually end in disqualification with Rousey picking up the victory. Jax’s Team Raw was the winner in the traditional elimination match.

Jax is related to Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson

It is notable that Nia Jax hails from the famous Anoa’i family boasting a huge wrestling legacy. She is also a cousin to the wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson. Jax had a 7-year long run with the WWE. However, her performances failed to impress as she was future endeavored in 2021.

Jax injuring Lynch, albeit accidentally, resulted in a huge uproar from the fans. As they blamed The Irresistible Force for depriving them of a dream match between Lynch and Rousey. However, they wouldn’t be left disappointed for long. As ‘The Man‘ took on both Rousey and Flair in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 35.

Nia Jax revisits the incident to the annoyance of fans

Jax recently posted a story on her Instagram account. She shared the exact moment the injury to Lynch took place. And wrote a caption, “Happy Anniversary”. Needless to say, the fans weren’t too pleased and instantly reacted on social media over the matter.

The freakish injury incident in 2018 no doubt halted Becky Lynch’s momentum at the time. But it is also the iconic moment that her fighting spirit got hugely over with the fans. She was already a star, but this incident gave her an even bigger push to the very top. While Nia Jax has tried to remind everyone that it was she who propelled Lynch to superstardom. Fans saw all through that and understood that it was nothing but just a botched move on her part.
