“The Way I Look at Him”: Time Spent With Dwayne Johnson Once Led Cristiano Ronaldo’s Girlfriend Into a Notorious Question

It’s hard to get past the charisma of Dwayne Johnson. Whenever the Hollywood hunk comes on TV, he never fails to charm whoever is watching him. Also, it turns out even a top Hollywood actress isn’t any different. 

The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment made his Hollywood debut almost two decades ago. Since then, The Rock has never had to look back. Johnson has appeared in more than 50 movies and most of them could create a buzz at the box office. One of those movies was Hercules released in 2014, which generated twice the amount of its budget worldwide.

But The Hercules movie wasn’t on the news for only one reason. Irina Shayk, the then-girlfriend of the soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, was also in the film. Shayk played the wife of the Greek God Hercules. It was the supermodel’s first acting role in Hollywood. After the wrap-up of the movie, the rumors of both actors dating each other started to surface on the Internet.

In the Russian model’s interview on the moviemaniacsDE YouTube channel, she praised The Rock affectionately. “His (Dwayne Johnson) energy, the way… I look at him, and the way how I see he was acting on set, just made me feel so comfortable and relaxed that I was like, if he can do it, maybe I can do it too. So, yeah, it was really great to have him next to me for my small role in a big movie,” Shayk said.

Was Cristiano Ronaldo jealous of Dwayne Johnson?

When the actress was asked if her then-boyfriend Ronaldo was jealous of the on-screen chemistry between her and Dwayne Johnson, she started chuckling.“I don’t know. You should ask him (Ronaldo). This is a good question.”

But Irina Shayk made it clear that her decision isn’t affected by anyone, not even CR7. “Well, I think I’m this kind of person. If I take some business decisions for myself, if I want to do something, I don’t ask no one what they think about it. You know, it’s your career. It’s your life. You have to be independent. And you have to take decisions by yourself.”

Neither Dwayne Johnson nor Irina Shayk confirmed the news of their dating. But Shayk broke up with Ronaldo less than a year after the movie and started dating The Hangover star, Bradley Cooper. Later, they got married.

Dwayne Johnson also married his long-time girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, in 2019. Johnson never portrayed an image of a ladies’ man particularly, so it’s hard to imagine The Rock taking his shot at the Russian model.
