It was originally planned, according to Dwayne Johnson, to depict the two origin tales of Shazam! and Black Adam in the same film, but he subsequently realized that this wouldn’t work.
He stated, “The original plan, maybe five or six years ago I think, was to tell the two origin stories of Shazam! and Black Adam in the same movie. That’s what we had worked on… the script was delivered. When we all read the script, I immediately felt like, ‘We have to separate these two movies.”
The People’s Champion stated it was crucial to convey each tale in its proper context since most people in the world, if they weren’t die-hard comic book fans, don’t know who Black Adam is.
Hiram Garcia believes the idea of Dwayne Johnson was freeing
Hiram Garcia, the former brother-in-law of Dwayne Johnson, acknowledged that the decision to separate the debuts of Shazam and Black Adam separated from one another was liberating.

Garcia stated, “It was very freeing. We were encountering ideas, as you guys know who have seen Shazam!, tonally Shazam! is just very different from Black Adam. To properly make sure you introduce these characters in the right way for the fans and for the world, we wanted to make sure we honored the tone and were doing it the right way.”
He added, “When Dwayne sent us that message, and it shook us up, then we all were like, ‘Oh, this is so much easier now.’ We saw the patch. Shazam! turned into the great property that it is, and that movie came out great.” [H/T: ComicBook.Com]

As a result, he added, Black Adam, like Shazam!, will be fun to watch because of its anti-hero tone and his introduction to the world would strike. He also thought that the DC fans will be able to react to that. However, will be intriguing to see how the decision plays out in the future.
