“Pathological Liar”: Fans Call Out Dwayne Johnson for Apparently Making an Ignorant Statement

It is no secret that ‘Black Adam’ is one of the dream projects of Dwayne Johnson in Hollywood. He claimed several times he wanted to star as the Teth Adam for over a decade and he finally got the opportunity.

However, recently a fan called The Rock a liar over his story of being introduced to the ‘Black Adam’ character for the first time.

Recently, a fan shared a picture of a dialogue between an interviewer and Dwayne Johnson. The Rock revealed he loved comic books as a kid and found out about Black Adam. Moreover, Johnson became interested in this character because he thought Black Adam looked like him.

The fan shared the tweet calling DJ lier about his story. The tweet says, “the rock has to be one of the funniest people out there”.

Originally Black Adam first appeared in comics in the year 1945. It was in the issue of The Marvel Family #1 released by Fawcett Comics. However, they brought back the character in 1973 in ‘The Power of Shazam’ comic when DC officially acquired the rights to Fawcett Comics.

Since the actor was born in 1972, people felt he might have read the comics years later.

Fans call Dwayne Johnson a liar

The Great One claimed that he found out about Black Adam in comic books. Moreover, DC Comics brought back Black Adam in the 70s.

Nevertheless, a few fans shared their reactions to this tweet in the comment section. They called The Rock liar over his story.

However, many fans felt he was lying.

Many felt he was lying about knowing about Black Adam’s character from his childhood.

Warner Bros had started making plans for ‘Shazam’ and ‘Black Adam’ in 2014 and signed Dwayne Johnson, too.  Surprisingly, there was no DJ or ‘Black Adam’ when ‘Shazam’ was released in 2014, starring Zachary Levi.

The Rock said, “When the first draft of the movie came to us, it was a combination of Black Adam and Shazam: Two origin stories in one movie. Now that was the goal—so it wasn’t a complete surprise.”

He added, “But when I read that, I just knew in my gut, ‘We can’t make this movie like this. We would be doing Black Adam an incredible disservice.’ It would’ve been fine for Shazam having two origin stories converge in one movie, but not good for Black Adam.”
