“When You Get Really High at Three in the Morning”: Dwayne Johnson Once Related a Major Movie Scene to His Midnight Thoughts

Dwayne Johnson takes every scene seriously while filming. There are few movie scenes that he has loved to film and remembers until this day. Similarly, while filming a Disney movie, The Rock had some crazy feelings. 

He shared those feelings in one of the interviews while he was promoting the movie last year.

While appealing for an interview on USA Today, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt shared how their co-star Jack Whitehall felt seeing their kissing scenes. Moreover, The Rock also opened up about his feelings while using CGI for a leopard scene.

Blunt said, “Jack was horrified. He said it was like watching his parents kiss at that point. It was at the end of the shoot. He was like mortified by it, which made it all the more awkward like shut up. And yes, there was a leopard. He was played by a man named Ben, who had very beautiful eyes.”

Johnson added, “It all just reminded me of those crazy times when you get really high at three in the morning. Those are the thoughts you have.”

The scene DJ and Blunt are talking about is the one when Frank, played by Johnson, fights a leopard. They used CGI for the animal. However, while filming, The Great One had to shoot the scene with an actor who wore a green leotard.

This is the reason why the Teth Adam actor called the filming of this scene, giving him an uncanny feeling. Also, in the interview, it seems Johnson and Blunt have an inside joke over this scene which DJ didn’t share and the host moved to the next question.

Elsewhere in the same interview, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt shared how they filmed the underwater mouth-to-mouth scene, which looked romantic on-screen. Moreover, DJ said a joke about it which made the ‘A Quiet Place’ actress feel gross.

Blunt said, “I have to say when we watch the scene, it’s so beautiful in the movie. But on the day (of filming) we couldn’t even see each other. It’s very murky down there and so I could have been kissing anyone. (Points at DJ) It was probably one of your stunt doubles.”

Johnson jokingly said, “You were kissing my foot. My foot in mouth.”

Also, Blunt revealed, Johnson doesn’t know to swim and quickly got drowned like a rock. The British actress took charge during the underwater scene.

Both stars Blunt and Johnson did most part of the acting underwater. Moreover, the only time they used CGI for this scene was for the piranhas. They shot the rest for over two weeks in the studio and Johnson and Blunt held their breath for up to 30 seconds during each take.
