The Jungle Cruise was one of the most anticipated films of 2021. Even though the release was delayed by a year due to the pandemic, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt kept the buzz alive. Moreover, co-actor Jack Whitehall also accompanied them to promote the movie.

The renowned English comedian once recalled asking his mom Hilary Whitehall to read some lines while was auditioning for The Jungle Cruise. Surprisingly, the lines she read were of The Rock and she wanted her son to share the video with his fans.

A year ago, while talking to Simon Thompson of FORBES, Jack Whitehall recalled the reaction of his mother Hilary Whitehall after she read Dwayne Johnson‘s lines. Whitehall said it disappointed his mom because he didn’t share the video with The Rock.

Whitehall said, “(Laughs) No, I have not shown him my mother being Dwayne Johnson yet. She is nagging me to put that out there into the world. Maybe I have to do it at some point. She really did commit to it. She did her best Dwayne Johnson impression and everything.”

He added, “I think she was slightly disappointed that she didn’t get the call to come out to Hawaii and be one of his stunt doubles or stand-ins, but I just told her, ‘You didn’t quite have the physique for it, mother. You may have nailed the voice, but physically, I don’t think you quite scream Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.’”

There are very few people who can mimic Dwayne Johnson’s Hollywood roles. Subsequently, many fans easily do impressions of The Rock. It seems the comedian’s mother was very happy to read the lines of ‘The Great One.’ Also, as per Whitehall, she read the lines perfectly, with the best impression of DJ.

Moreover, it would have been great if The Jungle Cruise actor uploads the video on social media if he hasn’t already. Furthermore, Johnson would love to see it, and he himself might upload the video on his social media.

Jack Whitehall thought Dwayne Johnson wasn’t aware of his work

The Jungle Cruise was not only Dwayne Johnson’s first film with Emily Blunt, but also with Jack Whitehall. While The Rock was aware of Blunt’s movie career, Whitehall thinks DJ might have not known about the comedian’s work.

In the same interview, Whitehall said, “I don’t think Dwayne was aware of my work. I don’t necessarily think he was an avid viewer of Bad Education or my stand-up work. Maybe once I’d signed on to the movie, Dwayne watched a few clips. I think he’d seen one of my routines about meeting Prince Harry because he talked to me about that when we were on set one day and said he liked that joke that I did.”

However, because of WWE’s huge presence in the United Kingdom, Whitehall knew everything about The Rock. Moreover, he stated there were several moments when he taught Blunt ‘The Rock Bottom’.

It was a great learning experience for Whitehall while working with Johnson and Blunt. He claims to have learned a lot about both and is now a good friend of The Rock.
