In 2020, the Hollywood megastar did a Q&A session on Instagram, during which he disclosed he lost the iconic role of “Jack Reacher” to Tom Cruise in 2012.
Notably, as in Movies, actors are chosen on the basis of their appearance and stature, which suits the film, and since it is difficult to find someone who fits the DJ’s appearance, he felt certain that he would be cast.
He stated, “In Hollywood, actors are kind of like in-a-box. Some actors can vie for a particular role because it allows for them to have a certain look, skin color, size, etc. Fortunately, for me, there aren’t a lot of guys at all who look like me.”

Johnson offered this answer in relation to how he currently gets his films during a Question & Answer session on his YouTube channel in 2017. Replying to this question, DJ stated, “I don’t have to audition for my movies anymore. They come to me with an idea, and they’re like, Rock, we have this idea.”

He continued to explain how now people would just come up to him and propose their ideas. Johnson hilariously cited the instance of a guy who requested him to lead Notebook 2 but since he didn’t like the movie’s premise, he moved on to the next idea.
