“I Like to Have a Little Fun”: Dwayne Johnson Drops Major Truth Bombs About Black Adam, Compares His Superhero Character With DCEU’s Superman

Dwayne Johnson is having the finest time of his career as he prepares for the release of Black Adam, his first DC Comics movie. Well, before his movie even came out, he made some contentious remarks for which he was the focus of attention. And most recently, he belittled Superman while making remarks that underlined his supremacy in the DCEU movies.

Although DJ has a reputation for being a nice man who respects others. However, DJ appears to have adopted the character features of his next movie just before it is about to premiere in theatres in a few months.

It is common knowledge that Black Adam is an anti-hero who lost his power as a result of his evil acts and came back to life 5,000 years later to regain it. Speaking of his persona, Black Adam is Shazam’s adversary according to the comic book, but Johnson seems to like battling with Superman.

Johnson claims Black Adam possesses tremendous god-given superpowers that are capable of challenging Superman. In his words, “The difference is, well, a few things. Number one, Superman’s greatest weakness is magic. And one of Black Adam’s greatest superpowers is magic. [H/T: Vaintyfair]”

Unquestionably, it would be phenomenal to see a clash between Black Adam and Superman. Notably, Johnson keeps making hints of a fight between Black Adam and Superman. However, according to Black Adam’s actor, the two characters are thousands of miles apart.

Dwayne Johnson claims Black Adam is not like Superman in any manner

One thing about Johnson’s Black Adam character is for sure: it is completely different from anything he has ever portrayed. He also contrasts his antihero character with Superman from the DC Extended Universe in the same interview.

He stated, “Superman won’t kill anybody. There’s a code that he lives by and he honors. Black Adam has a unique code of ethics too. He will not hesitate—and I like to have a little fun when I’m explaining this—to rip somebody in half. Literally, he’ll grab someone by the neck and by the thigh and then rip them up, tear them apart.”

Black Adam contrasts with Superman in that as he is evil and does not think twice about ripping people off, but Superman is recognized for his kindness, empathy, and compassion. Thus, this can be the main element driving the rivalry. However, it will be intriguing to see whether Black Adam and Superman will ever square off.
