As he is about to release his film, Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson, has formally entered the DCEU. The popularity of superhero movies has recently increased dramatically. The MCU and DCEU have significantly increased the popularity of these flicks among fans with their respective films.

But it’s clear that this has heightened the rivalry between the two fandoms. In light of this competition, it is interesting to note that Black Adam’s actor once belittled the Marvel Avengers before he was a DC Anti-Hero.

For those who are unaware, DJ was sought out for the Black Adam well in advance—more than 8 years before the movie’s slated to release. Meanwhile, he was conducting promotional interviews for his film Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle right up to its release.

He said that he would choose the Avengers if he had to pull a legit celebrity in Jumanji and made sarcastic comments about them. As he said, “If I can pull a real celebrity into the world of Jumanji like I have myself and my other cast mates, I would have to say well here’s a thing.”

“It’s not just one celebrity. I would pull in no, no, no I will pull them all in it and the all who I’m talking about are the avengers. I pull them all in and all of them need their a** kicked. Because it’s DC baby, that’s how we roll, Black Adam.”

It shows the zeal that DJ had for the project that even before filming began; he was making sarcastic jabs at its greatest competitors. However, The Rock and many other DC heroes get along well with the Marvel heroes, but they nonetheless took the digs in this way, as fans do it often.

Why do DCEU and MCU fans often argue verbally?

One thing is certain, tho: when a character resonates with them deeply, fans commonly develop a parasocial bond with them. Notably, when parasocial relationships with the character have developed through time, fans now protect them.

For Marvel and DC to flourish and prosper as businesses, they need to be able to cultivate devoted fan bases and boost their game.
