Cody Rhodes‘ mother, Michelle Rubio was recently seen adorning her performing personality as she became a part of her son’s recent storyline. Some fans even appreciated this, as it gave the feud more of a personal turn. Even though The American Nightmare’s sister was also involved in the feud, her mother’s appearance had a different significance. This is because the amount of time that Rubio got on camera because of this Rhodes’ recent feud is clashingly ironic to what she thinks of on-screen gigs.

Rubio has no hard feelings for performers who earn from on-screen jobs. However, the woman herself never found it the best thing to get into. This is especially because of her repulsion from ‘fame’. Despite what she thinks about being on camera, she still became a big part of Rhodes’ latest feud, and here’s why.

Why did Cody Rhodes’ mother make an exception for him?

In a recent interview with Fightful, Teil Rhodes, Cody’s elder sister opened up about a lot of details regarding the wrestler and their family. Stephen Jensen asked her about what it was like seeing her mom and herself be a part of the latest Cody Rhodes storyline. Then, she replied with a new fact about her mother that not a lot of people knew before.

Teil started by saying, “It’s funny because she is the least ‘wanna be on camera’ person that you could ever meet in your whole life.” Then, the wrestler’s sister also added, “It’s funny that she is always right there in the spotlight, but I think she really liked it.” Teil also revealed that it was the first time that both Brandi Rhodes‘ father and Cody Rhodes’ mother were watching The American Nightmare in-ring while sitting together.

“She really wanted him [Cody Rhodes] to win and Brandi’s dad Otis was sitting with her as well in Brandi’s hometown. So I thought that was a really cool moment for them to share too,” said the elder sister.

Even though Michelle is not a fan of being in front of a camera, she made an exception to see her son victorious. The gesture that she portrayed shows why motherhood is so unique.

Her patience paid off in the end as The American Nightmare pinned Brock Lesnar. However, it wasn’t an easy road being a mother and seeing her son getting destroyed in the ring.

Cody Rhodes’ mother had to suffer before witnessing the victory

As a mother, one of the hardest parts for Rubio might have been seeing her child getting obliterated by The Beast Incarnate in front of a huge audience. This happened on a weekly episode of Raw in July. In the episode, Brock Lesnar lured Cody Rhodes backstage to beat him up and accept his SummerSlam challenge.
