AEW has become a major competitor to WWE over the last 4 years. All Elite raised the bar as Tony Khan managed to sign several of WWE’s released superstars. He even joined hands with ROH and NJPW to have the star power to match his biggest rival and break their long-standing attendance record. The 41-year-old took his biggest event across the pond to Wembley to achieve this, but it turned out to be futile. AEW All In had a marketed attendance of 81,035, while the government data logged an attendance of 72,265. How do these numbers correspond to that of WWE?
As of now, WWE leads the chart for the highest attendance for any wrestling event by miles with WrestleMania III and WrestleMania 32. The marketed attendance for these events at the Pontiac Silverdome and the AT&T Stadium was 93,173 and 101,763, respectively. All In 2023 sits at third. Now, reports suggest that the next edition at Wembley Stadium will see the AEW President make another attempt to claim the top spot.

The speedy sale of the PPV show is an indicator of the success of its previous edition. Many wrestling observers considered the show to be on par with WWE’s WrestleMania, i.e. ‘The SuperBowl of Sports Entertainment.’ Unfortunately, All In 2023’s success was marred by the controversy surrounding CM Punk.
Tony Khan immediately had to assemble a committee involving Bryan Danielson, to tackle the issue. AEW parted ways with the ‘Real World Championship’ holder. While ‘The Second City Saint’ has shifted back to WWE, AEW has seen the addition of Ric Flair and Adam Copeland. Based on these moves and the ticket data, the fans do not seem to be averse to All Elite.
