Jim Ross recently had some insights to give over the matter of why The Charismatic Enigma never turned villain in WWE. It was not Hardy’s inability to do so, but it was never in Mr. McMahon’s plans for a particular reason.

Jeff Hardy’s lifestyle made Vince McMahon double-think booking him

On the recent podcast GrillingJr, the ‘Voice of Wrestling’ shared why McMahon never turned the former three-time world Champion heel in his WWE career. He suggested that the former WWE star couldn’t be relied on due to disciplinary issues.

Ross said, “How far do you go with someone that you don’t totally trust? And I think that’s where Vince was because I gotta go through all this stuff. I gotta be, Vince is not gonna call Jeff Hardy and say, here’s this, here’s the issue. And here’s my thoughts on it. He’s gonna have JR do it. So I take the heat, I didn’t mind it, I was getting paid really well. ”

He added, “So I think Jeff’s issue was Jeff and his credibility was the fact that can he be trusted? And is he clean and sober and can he stay clean and sober? And we know the answer to that? The answer is no. He didn’t stay clean and sober.”

The AEW commentator also added all of his personal issues caught up to him. He shed a light on how Hardy has help from people now, which is “wonderful”. Matt Hardy recently penned a beautiful message to support his brother after Jeff Hardy’s DUI case was closed.

Even though he never turned heel, Jeff Hardy won the WWE Championship once and World Heavyweight Champion twice. Along with WWE, he also won the TNA world championship and was a top guy in his time at the promotion.

The Charismatic Enigma returned to WWE in 2017 with his brother Matt Hardy. He won the SmackDown tag title and Intercontinental Championship in his last run before being released from the company. At a WWE house show event, he walked off the ring after a tag team bout.
