Sasha Banks was one of the biggest things in the WWE Women’s division a couple of years ago.
Her promotion from NXT was a big move and the Superstar made a huge impact on the main roster, quickly reaching the top of the charts.
However, in 2020, Banks has lost her individuality. Siding with Bayley, Banks looks like more of an assistant than a primary.

WWE has exhausted the Bayley-Banks connection to the bone.
Making use of their friendship outside the ring, Bayley and Sasha Banks have had more segments together than any other Superstar.
In the process of making these two stick to each other every time, WWE has managed to make them look like more of a tag-team than individual wrestlers.
The occasional ‘friction’ between the two got fans bored of the repetitive storyline. The Bayley-Banks feud and patch-up after was something going on since their NXT days.
WWE then decided to turn both their best talents into heels.
This decision has proved to be a success for the numbers. The storyline has now become one of the most followed in WWE.
They managed to get the edge over AEW’s Fyter Fest by attracting a lot of audience on screen, primarily through the headlining encounter between Io Shirai and Sasha Banks.
The change in the character of both these Superstars has left a major void in the division, however.
The anti-heroes Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were the only ones who could keep it going. However, Flair was sent to NXT.
Sasha Banks may be in the heel role till SummerSlam
The approval rating of Banks has shot up among fans. She has been playing heel well but has lately been overcompensating.
Imitating WWE legend The Undertaker has earned her a lot of flak.

She even called herself better than Lita in an Instagram selfie. Now that Bayley is clearly the dominant figure among the two, Banks seems like more of a sidekick.
WWE may have got it right by turning both their talents into heels. However good Banks looks right now, WWE need to bring her upfront and center as soon as possible.
WWE may end the Bayley-Banks link once and for all after SummerSlam and turn Banks back to normal as her own person.
They may somehow be successful in getting her back to the heights she reached years ago.
If WWE keeps Banks immersed in the heel role, she can’t be the face of the company anytime soon.
However, she may be in there for a while because of the numbers the storyline is raising for the company.

The heel role, although fun to watch, can’t last forever. WWE could achieve much by getting Banks back to that hardcore Superstar role who made Charlotte tap out on the steel railings.
Now that her approval ratings are sky-high, WWE must give her the biggest push of them all.
