The wrestling world has lost several of its most recognized names or legends in the last few years. To name a couple of them are Scott Hall, aka Razor Ramon and Antonio Inoki. The wrestling fraternity saddened to hear the passing away of one more wrestling legend at the age of 80-years-old who is a father of a WWE Hall of Famer.

Jerry Jarrett, father of Jeff Jarrett, was a well-known professional wrestler and a booker. In his 20+ years of wrestling, Jarrett won several tag team championships across the territories back in the day.

He is an important figure in the history of this business in the Mid-Southern United States and was described as a “wrestling genius” by many. In the late 70s Jarrett founded his own promotion the Continental Wrestling Association.

In the late 80s, he would go to merge his promotion with WCCW, which he later sold to Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler in 1997. Jarrett later focused on promoting his a new promotion NWA: TNA in 2002 alongside his son Jeff Jarrett until 2005.

Although he hung up his boots in 1988, his son Jeff Jarrett took the family legacy ahead in the professional wrestling business. ‘Double J’ worked in WWE, WCW and also his co-founded promotion TNA.

Jerry Jarrett is one of the highly respected figures in the world of the professional wrestling. He influenced and kick-started many careers in the business. Several wrestling names came together on twitter to pay their respects to the legend and share support to his family.
