The Miz is one of the most versatile wrestling superstars WWE has produced. Apart from his skills in the ring, he is also known for his acting career. As one of WWE’s standout performers and actors fans recently brought up his name for the Mortal Kombat movie. The movie is currently working on its sequel, and a lot of fans of The Miz pitched his name forward for the role of the flamboyant character of “Johnny Cage.”
The Miz himself was very interested in the role. However, he did not get the part and was beaten by another actor. Speaking about it in an interview, The Miz sent a message to the $25 million actor who scored the part.
The Miz opens up about his disappointment

Veteran New Zealand actor Karl Urban beat The Miz and secured the role of “Johnny Cage.” The Miz told Fightful.com, “I’ll be honest, I really wanted to be Johnny Cage.” The Miz said that he liked the first installment of the Mortal Kombat movie. However, he was disappointed to find out that the movie didn’t feature his favorite character. “I’ve always loved the character Johnny Cage, and when he wasn’t in there, I was like, oh, wow. I can’t believe they didn’t put Johnny Cage in there.”
However, The Miz said he was happy to know that Cage would be featured in the next movie. When he saw that the WWE Universe was also rooting for him to play the character, he instantly told his agent that he wanted to play the character. However, his wish did not come true.
“Am I heartbroken that I’m not going to be Johnny Cage? Yes, of course, but that’s the story of life, you take your bumps and bruises. This is Hollywood. This is acting,” said The Miz. He also said that he literally pitched himself on several shows as well and voiced his wishes to play the part.
The Miz said he was okay with their decision and respected their judgment. Speaking about the reaction of his fans to Urban getting the role, he said, “people were like [asking me] if I was mad or angry, and I never get mad or angry when someone else gets a part that I want.” He also revealed that the casting crew didn’t invite him for an audition despite his active efforts.

The Miz sends a message to Karl Urban
Speaking about Karl Urban, The Miz said he finds him a person with fantastic acting skills. “I’ve watched him on The Boys; I think he’s a terrific actor. I think he’s going to do an amazing job as Johnny Cage, and you better believe I’m going to watch it,” he said. The Miz also said that his primary focus currently lies solely on WWE.

The Miz showed his excitement over the current love and support the WWE is getting. He said that all the WWE events are getting sold out and the current baby faces, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, are doing a great job keeping the audiences hooked. Speaking about himself, the WWE superstar said he is enjoying how things are at WWE and will try his best to be the best WWE wrestler he can be.
