Jeff Hardy made his AEW return in April this year. This was after his suspension due to a legal case that he was being tried for. He made a dramatic return during a scene where ‘The Firm’ was having the best of Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy. Jeff soon saved his brother, and the two shared a moment of disbelief upon seeing each other, leaving several fans in awe. Fans of the ‘Hardy Boyz’ were excited to see the brotherhood between the two come back to life.
After that, both the wrestling stars were seen the last time together in ‘AEW Double or Nothing’. The event took place on 28th May 2023. Hardy Boyz, along with Hook, were able to defeat their opponents by pin. However, it didn’t happen before Jeff botched his popular move and fell down harshly.

The match was going well and Jeff was about to execute his popular ‘Whisper in the Wind’ move. The tide of the match turned upside down when Jeff messed up the move and slipped. This caused him to fall down in a hard and ‘nasty’ manner. Nothing since has been heard from him regarding the kind of injury he could’ve gotten. When Matt Hardy sat down in a recent episode of his podcast, he was asked about his brother’s condition.
Matt assured the world that Jeff was completely fine, and the slip was not a big deal. “He wanted to go up and just slip the one leg off but he got his one leg caught over the top rope a little bit which is something he didn’t plan to do,” revealed Matt about the plan they had.
According to Matt Hardy, the slip was actually thought of, but it still went bad, leading to the hard fall. Despite what the plan was, fans treated Jeff harshly for not being able to pull off his move well enough as before.

Fans attack Jeff Hardy for botching his signature move
Matt Hardy claims that they had already planned for Jeff to slip the move. However, Jeff messed up the ‘planned’ mess up and fell right down. Instead of sympathizing with him, several fans started to attack him for slipping off his signature move. While some of the fans blamed him for ‘drinking’ again, others asked him to ‘hang up’ the wrestling gear.
