Hulk Hogan had a huge impact in changing the pro wrestling business not once, but twice. He did it first with WWE as the baby face Immortal Hulk Hogan in the 1980s. Then over a decade later he turned heel in WCW and changed the game as Hollywood Hogan.

During his WCW run, he formed the New World Order, nWo with Kevin Nash and the late Scott Hall. The group added a lot more members over the years as it became wildly popular.

Hogan is still friends with a few members of that iconic group and recently had kind words to offer to a former nWo member.

After the nWo debuted with Nash, Hogan, and Hall as its original members, it added the likes of Ted Dibiase and The Giant (Big Show). One more member joined the group later, former WWE star the 1-2-3 Kidd Sean Waltman. Waltman joined WCW and nWo under the new ring name Syxx.

In a recent interview, The Hulkster opened up on his relationship with Waltman during their time together in WCW.

Hulk Hogan called Waltman a really solid friend

Even before Sean Waltman joined nWo, he was riding alongside Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as part of the notorious backstage group in WWE the Kliq. After Nash and Hall left for WCW, Waltman joined them after a while as Syxx following his release from WWE.

He joined Hulk Hogan and his old friends as nWo began dominating WCW programming. Waltman was one of the core members of the group in its initial run.

In an interview with Ringside Collectibles, Hogan talked about the stories behind each of his popular action figures from WWE to WCW. He came across a figure of Sean Waltman and was asked about his relationship with the former nWo member.

Hogan said, “He was rock solid, man, he was on the team. I couldn’t figure for a while if he was loyal to D-Generation X or to the nWo. He kind of bounced back and forth, but he was a really good friend, man.

The Hulkster further added that though he didn’t get to know Waltman early on he became a good friend later. He continued, “I didn’t really get to know him until a couple of years into the run, but he turned out to be a really solid friend.

Waltman was a reliable performer for WCW during his run. But his time was cut short after his release over a year later. During his time with the promotion, he won the Cruiserweight title once and held the tag team titles with Kevin Nash.

However, he bounced back after his return to WWE. He revitalized his career as X-Pac and joined the popular faction D-Generation X. Waltman remained a solid performer throughout the Attitude Era.
