Despite Goldberg’s size, which was larger during his hay days then, this wrestler made him taste defeat in a brawl backstage. The two former WWE Champions were both popular in WCW. But due to certain miscommunication, there was a feud brewing between them. But this did not reach a physical altercation until both of them were in WWE. Now, all those years later, a legendary wrestling commentator is revealing what he saw to the public.
Veteran recalls the way this former WWE Champion bested Goldberg backstage

In a special Goldberg episode on the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about seeing him grow in WWE. But one thing he didn’t forget to mention was the former World Champion’s first backstage feud with Chris Jericho. He said, “I walked in just as Jericho was applying the front face lock. So, I was an eyewitness. And Jericho was like a pit bull; he was relentless. He wouldn’t even let go. Sooner or later, the other guy passes out.”
This is not the first time that former or current WWE employees have mentioned the real-life feud between Goldberg and Chris Jericho. But years later, Goldberg appeared on Jericho’s podcast, Talk is Jericho. In this meeting, they realized that the scuffle resulted due to people pitting them against each other and by manipulating them.

Despite this, the two would also have a number of matches against each other over the years. During his last run with the company, the former AEW Champion worked with Goldberg when Le Champion was in a partnership with Kevin Owens.

Another iconic moment between the two was when Goldberg speared Jericho into the Elimination Chamber pod at SummerSlam, 2003. This was also the first time the pod had imploded, which is a trope of the stipulation match in the modern age.
