During his time in the company, Cena dated former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, and the two had quite a publicized relationship for a long time. Their relationship was later also mentioned on WWE programming, but even before that fans saw that part of their lives on the WWE’s reality TV show ‘Total Divas.’

In 2015, in an interview with E! News Nikki Bella talked about her relationship with Cena and what drove its success. She said they had date night every week and dress up for each other before going out. She also said that the pair prioritize each other and disconnect from the outside world. Bella added they would talk about each other’s week and communicate.

Moreover, Nikki Bella said that the 16-time world champion treated her to thoughtful gifts regularly. She said, “Every time I come home, he’ll always have a dozen roses and a card waiting for me. It never gets old. It’s truly amazing.” The WWE Hall of Famer even described Cena as her knight in shining armor. Bella said, “He truly is my knight in shining armor.”

The power couple would continue to be a part of TV for a few years and even starred in another reality show centered around the Bella Twins, called ‘Total Bellas.’ They would also give WWE fans a moment to remember when Cena proposed to Nikki Bella in the ring after their win at WrestleMania 33.

Their relationship came to an end in 2018 later due to disagreements about the future. However, it seems they shared a lot of affectionate moments together. The wrestling duo gave many aspiring couples relationship goals due to their charming efforts for each other.
