WWE is not new to firing employees abruptly. Recently, 11 NXT stars were fired from the roster, and Drew Gulak was also among the names on the list. However, it was later cleared by the CCO of the Stamford-based company that Gulak wasn’t ‘fired’ but rather simply let go after his contract was over, as they didn’t wish to renew his contract.

Since the incident, Cody Rhodes‘ old comment has been resurfacing on the internet where he was found talking about the now-ex-WWE star. As a heads-up, fans should know that Rhodes didn’t have anything pleasant to say about Gulak back then.

While talking to Busted Open 7 years ago, Cody Rhodes was found talking about Gulak. Back then, the former NXT talent wasn’t in the middle of any controversies. However, The American Nightmare still couldn’t find it in him to like him. In the interview, Rhodes said, “There is a wrestler by the name of Drew Gulak, and I’m going to go ahead and tell you I think he sucks. He does a grizzled old vet routine, he hasn’t done anything or made any money anywhere, and he shouldn’t be doing that routine.

The former Bullet Club member went on to claim that back when he was in WWE, Gulak was frustrated and jealous about why fans liked him more at a conference. There was more crowd at Rhodes’ table than Drew Gulak, causing him to taunt his co-star and leave in a fired-up temper. This was how Rhodes started to dislike him. Years after not talking about him, the WWE Undisputed Champion is now witnessing him leave the leading wrestling promotion.

Paul Levesque didn’t confess the reason behind the same, most probably the company had more than one reason to let go of him. It could be possible that Cody Rhodes’ opinion of him may be one of the reasons as WWE would have noticed the problems that were mentioned 7 years ago.

Why do you think WWE let go of the wrestler? Could Cody Rhodes’ words have been a factor?
