Young Rock actor shares his experience working with John Cena, years before his WWE-led TV role

On his Instagram, the person who played Bam Bam Bigelow in the Young Rock show, which centered around Dwayne Johnson’s life, Patrick Cox, shared a story about him working with John Cena on a set in Louisiana. First, he said that he was giving the former WWE champion a hard time for being on a movie set. Taking it nicely and not bursting out, Cena maintained Cox’s respect.

He wrote in the caption, “I’ve posted this before but since the wrestling stuff popped up recently, I wanted to share what a great dude @johncena is I met him on a movie set in Louisiana a long time ago I f****d with him a little at first to feel him out and he immediately smiled. We ate together sat together chilled with locals he talked to every kid by the way. Then we did our scenes which were all violent and it was a lot of fun.”

“Next day he personally called to tell me he liked working with me and nonchalantly mentioned that he talked to Vince McMahon and got me an audition for the WWE. I sh*t the bed at that audition but the fact that he went out of his way like that for me.”

But this isn’t the only actor that has been mesmerized by Cena. This good-natured behavior of his not only got him appreciation from other actors but also from his seminal roles in big-budget movies as well.

John Cena’s way of getting Hollywood on his side

Just last year, we got to know that while filming Fast X, Cena met Margot Robbie at a restaurant. He was his joyous self and pulled a prank on her. But when she confronted him, she offered him a role in 2023’s biggest movie, Barbie, because of their previous work on The Suicide Squad.

Talking about Fast X, his role in the Fast series was also because of Cena’s nature. In an interview, Vin Diesel, the face of the franchise revealed the qualities he saw in Cena, which led him to pursue the wrestler to become his brother on the big screen.
