Melina Nava Perez will always be fondly remembered as a part of the WWE group dubbed MNM with Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury. She went on to have a successful solo run, winning the WWE Women’s Championship three times. Due to her excellent in-ring ability, she was called “One of the best wrestlers in the world” by Bret Hart.

However, her time in the company ended in August 2011 when she was fired from the company. Her last match saw her in a #1 contender’s battle royal match. Loved by the fans and having one of the most impressive arsenals of in-ring moves, her departure from the company left fans speechless.

She addressed the entire situation during an interview with Wrestling Shoot Interviews. While on the show, she talked about the night she knew she was getting fired. Melina said of Vince McMahon, “Vince was passing by and he stopped and he turned, and he looked at me, and he said you have a good night, and then he turned and then walked away. And all the guys were like ‘wow, you know, he made sure to say goodnight to you!’. I was like, holy f**k I’m getting fired.”

When she mentioned this to others, they claimed he was just saying goodnight, but Melina thought differently. She said, “He just said f**k you to me but with a good night.” According to Melina, she knew she was getting released, and in the next couple of days, she was released.
